The first confirmed outbreak of coronavirus in Mykonos has been announced by the administrator of the island’s Health Center.

A 69-year-old woman alleged to be the first coronary heart disease patient on the Cyclades island.The news were confirmed

The director of the Mykonos Health Center, Dina Sampsouni, confirmed the news in a post on social media.
The woman went to the Mykonos Health Center on Monday March 30 with suspicious symptoms and did the necessary test, which came out positive.

After experiencing symptoms of a lower respiratory infection. She was tested for coronavirus as her health was considered particularly serious and on Wednesday night, the results of laboratory tests showed she was positive for Covid 19.

The woman is a permanent resident of the island and has not traveled anywhere outside this territory lately, which means that she was infected by the virus on the island, unknown under which conditions. The 69-year-old showed symptoms about ten days ago and, followed instructions from a private island doctor. She was isolated at home waiting for her health to improve.

In order to provide her with the necessary nursing services, she decided to airlift to Attica reference hospital.

According the medical protocole those who came in contact with her in the past few days should be checked and isolated, as there is a serious risk of the disease spreading in the closed society of the island.
